When studying ancient history, there is one thing one should never be surprised to find. That one thing is ancient remains. The past is hidden from us and archaeological digs only provide a snapshot into what took place before our era.
If one digs deep enough in logical and sometimes illogical spots, they are sure to find a settlement or tomb, or some other ancient artifact. It happens to the professional archaeologists as well.
One example is found in the book Return to Sodom & Gomorrah by Dr. Charles Pellegrino:
Marinatos found evidence of streets and walls fifteen feet below what he assumed to be the original ground surfacr- a buried city beneath his buried city, two thousand years older and destroyed by the same volcano. (Pg. 204)
Spyridon Marinatos was the archaeologist who discovered the Minoan city buried under the current city of Akrotiri on the island of Thera. Unfortunately, no one can reach that deeper ancient set of remains because they would have to destroy the ancient remains already under excavation.
Even amateurs discover old remains and how ancient they are remains to be seen. One desert explorer found two locations of possible old remains on different treks. He made videos about his discoveries here and here.
He is not the only one who has made these types of discoveries. Another person did the same thing and also posted it on YouTube. You can view his tale at this link. Over the years we have read about different accidental discoveries when people renovated their homes.
Unfortunately, those stories do not make the top of the results pages because they are so old. Even in the mountains of Turkey, explorers find ancient remains and we have posted here and at our sister site the tale of Noah and his sons’ graves.
These discoveries are more accidental and found when people are doing different projects around the home or searching for other archaeological evidence. it is hard to say when they will pop up.
One thing is for sure, the world is full of ancient remains even though many are lost forever due to modern construction and wars, etc. Then there are videos talking about wonderful discoveries.
One example is 5,000 Year Old Map of AMERICA Discovered in Egypt Reveals Terrifying Secret which neither really showed or talked that much about the map and the content had anything resembling a terrifying secret.
We clicked on it hoping to get solid information about this map but it was never shown nor was the outline of America in the video content. These videos get tedious and often overlooked because of the nature of the content.
We would have liked the last video but it was tedious to endure as it left the map to near the end and then never really showed the map or its content. We have no problems with amateurs making discoveries but their presentations need to be better.
Or at least their titles should be more realistic and professional than some of the ones we have seen, including the last one above. Here is another example of a bad headline- 5000-Year-Old Book Found in Egypt REVEALS Horrifying Message About Human Existence
We haven’t watched the video yet so we cannot comment on its content but the title is misleading and should be classified as click bait. As it turns out, it is a discovery of another copy of the Book of Enoch which is not news nor has terrifying information about human existence.
The 5000-year-old book of Enoch has just been found, and several have stated that the texts would cause an uproar among believers. There have been several debates on whether or not the book of Enoch should be regarded as one of the books in the Bible and fixed into the apocalyptic category.
However, there have been doubts about its accuracy and how it contradicts the principles of the modern orthodox church. Since the translation of his texts, it has been discovered that he has influenced much of the New Testament, and several epistles have made several references to his book.
At one time, it was accessible until it was banned by church fathers and the government for its contradicting views. Now that it has been reintroduced and made known to believers, what message does it pass? (from the video)
If we remember correctly, the book of Enoch was written no earlier than about the 2nd to 4th centuries BC and has nothing to do with Enoch of Genesis. Just be wary when you come across these weirdly titled videos as they are not as mind-blowing or relating something that is not already known.
